About
Genealogist and family history researcher based in Northern Virginia with deep roots in the Shenandoah Valley region. Specializes in advanced research methodologies, genetic genealogy, and Appalachian ancestry.
Barry Kline grew up in Northern Virginia and has been researching family history since high school. His grandmothers instilled a passion for family history through stories and photographs. His family roots run deep through the Shenandoah Valley and down the Great Wagon Road to the Cumberland Gap, with ancestors including the builder of Kline's Mill near Stephens City, Frederick County, Virginia and one of the first Mennonite bishops in the Virginia Conference. He holds a BA in Psychology and an MA in East West Psychology, and has completed the Genealogical Research Studies Certificate from Boston University and the ProGen Study program. His genealogical studies include advanced research methodologies, genetic genealogy, Pennsylvania research, and church and military records. He serves on the board of several genealogical societies.
