With considerable experience researching at repositories in 12 New York State counties (Albany, Erie, Monroe, Montgomery, New York, Niagara, Oneida, Onondaga, Ontario, Tompkins, Wayne, and Yates), he has been teaching Irish genealogy since 2003 with detailed course handouts available at no cost. All eight of his great-grandparents emigrated from Ireland and settled in or near Ontario County, NY. He is active in multiple genealogical societies and serves as Town Historian for the Town of Gorham.
