Dr Nicholas Dixon

Dr Nicholas Dixon is a professional genealogist and historical researcher based close to the National Archives in London. With a PhD in History from the University of Cambridge and a Postgraduate Diploma in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies from the University of Strathclyde (graduated 2024), he offers genealogical research of the highest standard to clients whose ancestors lived in the United Kingdom, including international clients. He conducts research on a variety of genealogical and historical topics in archives and libraries across the United Kingdom and the United States. He is also active in giving talks about genealogy and writing articles and publications on related subjects. His academic research has focused on religion, politics and education in nineteenth-century England, with peer-reviewed articles published in prestigious journals including the English Historical Review and Studies in Church History. Dr Dixon is highly active in professional bodies supporting genealogists and is one of the editors of the Journal of Genealogy and Family History.
