Jamie is the owner and researcher at Shifting Sands Genealogy, with 25+ years of genealogy research experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a Minor in International Relations, and has completed multiple certificates from the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy and the National Institute for Genealogical Studies. With 10 years as a museum professional and 3 years as a library assistant, Jamie brings expertise in ancestry research, heirloom preservation, and historical research. Her passion for genealogy began in childhood, inspired by family stories from Ukrainian immigrant grandparents. She specializes in Michigan and Great Lakes region research, with particular expertise in Eastern European and Ukrainian ancestry.
