About

John C. Griffin is a genealogist and historian with a half decade of experience researching Canadian military records. He specializes in Commonwealth military record research with a subspecialty in Canadian records, and is also an author/writer focusing on Canadian military history and armed conflict.

From a young age, John C. Griffin has had a keen interest in history, especially military and pioneer history, influenced by his ancestors' military service including both his parents. This passion led him to establish Griffin Genealogical Research Services in 2021. He specializes in Commonwealth military record research, with a subspeciality of Canadian records. In addition to his work as a genealogist and historical researcher, he is an author/writer who mainly writes about Canadian military history and armed conflict. On March 8th, 2025, he was a recipient of the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his work preserving local military history and his work with the Royal Canadian Legion.
