Carolyn Shannon owns Keystone Histories, providing professional genealogical services including research, education, and writing. Her love of family history began early, accompanying her mother on research trips to the Newberry Library and local history centers. She studied the History of Christianity at the University of Chicago Divinity School and was previously a certified project manager and technical trainer in the local government and technology sectors. Carolyn specializes in bringing local history and personal journeys together, focusing on context—what was happening in ancestors' towns, what challenges they faced, and who their neighbors were.
