Ree's Genealogy

Maria Jean Pratt Hopper, known as Ree, has conducted extensive genealogical research into her husband's Jersey-Dutch ancestors who migrated from New Amsterdam to Bergen County, NJ, and surrounding areas of New Jersey and New York. In 2005, she published The Hopper Family Genealogy: Descendants of Andries Willemszen Hoppe(n) of New Amsterdam 1651–1658, a six-generation work with over 351 pages, 51 illustrations, and maps. A revised edition (Volume I) was published in 2025 with 400 pages, additional descendants, photographs, and documents. Volume II, published in 2025 in two parts, covers the seventh and eighth generations with more than 4,800 identified descendants across both volumes, and includes extensive bibliography and indexing.
