What this page covers
This policy describes cookies and similar storage we use when you use Visit My Roots. For broader privacy practices, see our Privacy Policy.
Session cookie (strictly necessary)
When you sign in, we set an HTTP-only session cookie so our servers can recognize you on later requests. This cookie is required for the application to work and does not track you across unrelated websites.
Analytics — PostHog
We may load PostHog product analytics when configured. For users in the EU/EEA/UK, such analytics typically requires your consent under ePrivacy rules before non-essential cookies or similar identifiers are set. A consent banner and granular controls may be added in a future release; until then, use the account-level analytics preference described below.
Analytics — Plausible
Where enabled, Plausible is configured as privacy-friendly page analytics that does not use traditional tracking cookies and does not collect personal data in the same way as ad-network analytics.
How to opt out of analytics
Signed-in users can toggle analytics participation from Account → Privacy & Data. That updates your stored preference and sets a client flag for when analytics scripts load.
